You may not get to choose your first thoughts,
but you can always choose your second.
You just have to learn how.
You may not get to choose your first thoughts,
but you can always choose your second.
You just have to learn how.
From your earliest experiences, you are encoding memory cells with data: Through your eyes, ears, nose, skin, mouth, and inside your body. These sensory inputs are forming into cellular memory.
You have several types of memories that give you your thoughts.
Here are four of them:
Conscious - when you choose to remember something
Sensory - when sensory input stimulates a memory
Associational - when you think of other memories associated with the original
Random - when thoughts just pop up into your mind
The first thoughts that you have are the My Thoughts. You rarely consciously decide to have those thoughts. Either sensory, associational, or random memories give you those first set of thoughts. Once you are aware of them, you then either act on them, impulsively, often without further thought, or you can pause for a moment and think if you would like to continue thinking about those thoughts.
Once you have those first thoughts, you do have the choice to accept or reject those thoughts. However, you cannot just not think about them. You have to have something else to think about. If you know what thoughts you would like to have, whenever you need a thought to go to, you can shift your memories from My Thoughts to My Choice and think about the new thoughts.
